obviously the MAC players won't have useful enough mice to be able to keep up with teh PC players
ps. I don't believe it'll last long - I reckon Apple will soon enough be in there wanting a slice of the pie once valve start making money - and I don't reckon they'll ablige them lol
Seriously.. what the heck is with the mac hatings, and by the way macs do have a mouse
I didn't buy a mac to play games in the first place, since I barely ever play PC games. Being a console gamer sometimes does have its perks
End of the day its still profits for Steam regardless of what type of computer you own. I see no downside to it personally.
Yes they have mice, but they are horrible to my hands and useless in nearly every way for gaming purposes (and most other purposes if you ask me :p) one button, 3d scroll, tiny non ergonomic design; it's simple all over I'm afraid
Besides that though, I don't see anything bad about the scheme either; I'm just saying that I think Apple will start druelling over the profits and proposition Valve to give them like 50% of all profits or prevent them from making games for the mac anymore (or something along those lines lol)... and I believe Valve in that case would just give Apple teh finger
The Mighty Mouse has 4 buttons, I agree its pretty useless for gaming(but great for page layout

although 2 of my friends surprisingly do use them for gaming!

(btw they have windows machines)
I think apple will welcome the move, it will just help them sell more macs. Gaming is probably the last major advantage of getting a windows machine over a mac (in terms of features). I don't expect lots of hardcore gamers to switch, however its more appealing to all the more casual gamers.
There is bootcamp which i use, however not to have to bother with installing a second OS on the machine makes it even more convenient.
Plus it makes an easy delivery system for the mac which could encourage other developers to follow valve in the dual release system.
